Insulation bricks.

Shaped insulating refractories for industrial furnace and kiln lining requirements. Start with the application, then confirm the appropriate grade and dimensions.

Material overview

A shaped approach to thermal insulation.

Insulation bricks, also called insulating firebricks (IFB), are refractory shapes designed to reduce heat flow in high-temperature equipment. They are a different product category from dense firebricks, which are not part of our current listed range.

Depending on the grade and exposure, insulation bricks may be considered for a hot-face lining or as backup insulation behind another refractory. Material selection must account for the lining position, operating temperature, atmosphere and mechanical conditions.

Ranipa accepts insulation brick enquiries alongside ceramic fiber products. Grade-specific technical data, dimensions, availability and commercial terms are confirmed for each requirement.

Application context

Where insulation bricks can fit.

Typical lining applications require confirmation against the selected grade and the equipment design.

01

Furnaces and kilns

Shaped insulating layers for suitable wall and roof designs, with joints and support details matched to the equipment.

02

Backup insulation

A thermal barrier behind a protective refractory layer, where the service conditions and temperature profile suit the brick grade.

03

Mixed lining systems

Brick and refractory ceramic fiber (RCF) can serve different functions within the same installation. Compare the complete lining design.

Selection factors

Specify the working conditions.

  • Normal and peak operating temperatures, plus cycle duration
  • Hot-face or backup position and the proposed lining thickness
  • Thermal conductivity at relevant temperatures and target shell temperature
  • Density, strength, dimensional stability and mechanical demands
  • Atmosphere, chemical contact, gas velocity and abrasion
  • Brick dimensions, drawings, quantity and delivery destination

Common questions

Insulation brick FAQ

Are insulation bricks the same as dense firebricks?

No. Both are refractory materials, but insulating bricks and dense bricks have different thermal and mechanical properties. Select the material for its lining duty.

Can insulation bricks replace ceramic fiber?

Sometimes a design can use either material, but the choice depends on weight, heat storage, support, exposure and maintenance requirements. They may also be used together.

Which grades and sizes can Ranipa supply?

Send your grade or application, dimensions, quantity and destination. We will confirm the available technical data and supply options for that requirement.
